we spent the weekend up at the cabin! my parents tagged along, and it was quite the adventure. the weather was absolutely gorgeous, and it was the perfect getaway from the heat down in the valley.
friday evening we spent the night playing ladder ball, cooking hot dogs, making a camp fire, and watching our wedding video!
saturday, the dogs woke me up early {about 7 or 7:30} so i immediately let them outside. my moms dog lucy came in, as well as wesley, but i let berkley wander around so i could get the dogs some food inside the cabin. i heard berkley barking very loud and i had no idea what he would be barking at, so i walked closer to the front door. guess what berkley was barking at? a 7 foot, 700 pound brown grizzly bear! are you serious!?! berkley was about 5-10 feet away from the bear barking his little head off! the bear was just looking at berks like, okay buddy keep on barking! as soon as i saw the bear i ran to the front door, and called berkley's name over and over, but he wouldn't listen. finally the bear started to walk backwards, so my dad ran out and grabbed berks.
craziest.thing.ever.
sadly, chansey was sleeping away and didn't hear any of us yelling at berks!
the rest of saturday we went to the smith and morehouse resevoir so the dogs could swim, and our aunt, cousin and niece showed up to hang out for the day. we cooked hamburgers, took silly pictures, pushed and pulled a car out of the driveway because it was stuck, played cards, watched happy gilmore and made another campfire.
sunday we cleaned up the cabin, closed it up real tight and made it back home at 12 to enjoy the rest of our day!
i can't wait to head back up again very soon!
p.s.~ no pictures of the bear, we were very worried for berkley at that point in time!

I cannot BELIEVE the bear story. That's nuts. I would have FREAKED. It sounds like a fun weekend. I'm glad Berkley is okay :)
Berkley is could've taken that bear! haha. Okay, problem not. But that's a great story.
