Backyard progress

We've done A LOT of work in the yard since the weather has been absolutely beautiful!

First off, we had an apple tree in our backyard that hadn't been treated correctly in years. Someone had cut off an entire side of the tree, and was only growing on one side. My mom also said the tree was diseased. Sadly, we cut the tree down on Sunday, and ripped out the trunk with our four wheeler. The backyard looks a lot bigger!

Right next to our garden plot, there was a metal clothes line that was cemented into the ground. Chanse and I started digging around the clothes line a few weeks back, and realized it was cemented in, we didn't know how we were going to get it out! On Sunday, my dad was over helping with all of the manly stuff, and started digging a bigger hole around the clothes line. We started tugging on it with the four wheeler, and it started coming loose! Slowly but surely, we got that sucker out! We're so excited to have 2 big projects done in the backyard!

Lastly, our garden plot. This garden was neglected for years and years. When we moved in, there was a small chain link fence surrounding the garden, we tore that down. There were huge weeds that we cut down, and pulled out one by one, so they wouldn't spread in the future. We also tilled the whole garden, and spread manure around. We're ready to start planting as soon as we can!
